California Association for Health Services at Home
CAHSAH has an opening for a Legislative Specialist/Coordinator . Qualifications include a minimum of two years experience working in/around the California State Capitol; an understanding of the legislative processes, and an ability to multi-task. This position is currently classified as exempt.

Odyssey
Campaign Organizer to lead Odyssey's ongoing coalition building, policy and grassroots organizing activities. The organizer will coordinate activities of the California Alliance for Transportation Choices. The position is based in Sacramento with competitive salary and benefits. California Chamber of Commerce
CCC has an opening for an Administrative Assistant to support the activities of two Legislative Advocates Directors in the areas of Agriculture and Resources and Education and Enviornmental Issues. The ideal candidate is someone with solid communication skills, both oral and written, strong organizational skills, proficient in Windows, Word, and Excel or Acess. Some knowledge of the legislative process is desired. An opening is available as a Research and Policy Consultant . Responsiblities include researching and analyzing education policy for the purpose of providing direction/advice to the association, school districts and state policy makers. Candidates must have knowledge of legislative procedures, activities and operations as well as knowledge of Federal, State and local goverment organizations. Knowledge of curriculum issues, school finance and /or education issues is also desirable. This is an exempt position and all candidates must possess a valid California driver's license and proof of insurance. Salary is commensurate with experience.

An opening is available as an Assistant Consultant, Policy Services . Would respond to requests for information and questions from school board members and school district administrators regarding a variety of school governance issues. Assists districts in the creation of their Policy Manual and coordinates and presents policy information. Three to five years experience in education, legislative or other public agency settings, conducting research and evaluating complex issues in education or the social sciences required. Frequent travel lasting up to several days at a time is required as well. This is an exempt position and all candidates must possess a valid California driver's license and proof of insuruance. Salary is commensurate with experience plus benefits.

El Dorado Local Agency Formation Commission

EDLAFCO is a state mandated commission with responsibility for formation and orderly growth of cities and districts within El Dorado County. At this time there are two positions open: Policy Analyst and Policy Analyst II. Responsibilities include performing detailed studies of policies, procedures, organization operations, services, finances and related matters and researching and analyzing laws, policies and other regulatory requirements and changes. AmeriCorps*VISTAs in Central Valley Digital Network
Beginning in January 2003, CVDN will enroll a new class of VISTA Volunteers to support local organizations in providing technology access and training to their communities, volunteers, and staff. VISTAs work with a partner organization to conduct unique needs assessment and develope a technology empowerment strategy for their 12-month term of service. Benefits include money for college, living allowance, health insurance for those who qualify for Childcare Assistance, and relocation expenses. Apply online.
