FACULTY

Outstanding Teaching and Service
Congratulations to Cristy Jensen, recipient of the 2001-2002 Outstanding Service Award, and Ted Lascher, recipient of the 2001-2002 Outstanding Teaching Award for the College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies.

This is quite an honor and the rest of us in the department of quite proud of them both.

Rob Wassmer, Public Policy and Administration, participated in a May 8 panel discussion of what drives high performing schools in low-income neighborhoods at the fifth annual Great Valley Center's annual regional conference in Sacramento. Rob presented his own research on "Policy Lessons from California Public Schools Where Academic Performance Exceeds Expectations" which he has completed in association with his part-time employment in 2001-02 at the California Senate Office of Research.

We welcome your contributions to the Communicator! Contact the Director, Ted Lascher, or the Department Secretary, Suzi Byrd, (916) 278-6557, in the PPA Department Office.
