Clark County (Las Vegas), Nevada, Management Intern Program. Management Interns will be assigned a wide array of responsibilities as staff assistants in the County Manager's Office. The internship begins on July 1, 2003 and runs through June 30, 2004. To qualify applicants must have satisfactorily completed the requirements for a Master's Degree in Public Administration or a directly related field by June 30, 2003 or prior to employment, whichever comes first. The Building Industry of Superior CA, a trade association representing homebuilders, subcontractors and others involved in home-building industry in the Greater Sacramento Region, is looking for an Associate Director of Governmental and Public Affairs. Position:
Executive Director
Responsibilities: Must understand and implement the goals of the RCCS Board. Fundraising administration including lead generation, research and campaign implementation. Program management of direct services to clients, including responsibility for record keeping Participation in the development of the annual budget and ensures that the organization works within its budget. Supervision of paid and volunteer staff. Identification, submission and management of new and ongoing grants, including reports. Supervises timely and efficient food purchases. Maintains relationships with social services agencies, business organizations and congregations in the community.
Qualities/Experience: Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies, and 3-5 years experience in donor cultivation and enhancement of government funding sources. Ability to promote and market programs, to work collaboratively with the board, staff and volunteers and to think strategically. Must also have strong knowledge of social service delivery systems, excellent verbal and written communication skills and competency with computer systems and Microsoft Office, MS Word and Excel. Four year college degree preferred.
Salary/ Benefits: The Executive Director is a salaried position to $40,000 annually, with healthcare, vacation and sick leave benefits.

United States Senator Barbara Boxer
Position: Field Representative
Location: San Francisco, California
Primary responsibility: Representing Senator Boxer at community events and advising the Senator about local concerns and priorities.
Field Representatives meet frequently with constituents and local government officials on federal issues and help design and organize events for Senator Boxer when she travels in the area. This position will have responsibility for activities in a number of counties in the Bay Area. The successful applicant will have a positive attitude and the ability to work and set priorities in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Strong writing and verbal communication skills are essential. Bilingual skills are a plus. This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $40,000, plus excellent benefits.
