Public Policy Internship
The California
Assisted Living Association (CALA), a statewide trade association
representing more than 400 assisted living providers, is seeking a part-time
public policy intern. Under direction of the Vice President of Public
Policy, the intern will:
" Assist with statewide grassroots advocacy campaign.
" Support public affairs efforts such as Assisted Living Week.
" Research and develop California-specific aging demographic fact
sheet.
" Identify and compile aging information resources.
" Draft articles for monthly newsletter.
" Provide general support to CALA's public policy efforts.
Strong analytical, research and writing skills needed. Knowledge of legislative process preferred. Knowledge of assisted living or long-term care is helpful but not required.
The internship will run through December and cover approximately 20 hours a week at $10/hour. The CALA office is located near RT and Light Rail; parking is not provided.

Washington Internships for Native Students
Here is a great opportunity for our Native American students. This is
an internship opportunity for all majors (including graduate students)
and is a fully paid scholarship. Students receive free travel, housing,
some meals, metro card, tuition, and a weekly stipend of $140 per week.
They are housed at American University in Washington, DC. Ninety-five
percent of the interns are placed at federal government agencies.
