Glenn and Dorothy Dumke Fellowship
The Glenn and Dorothy Dumke Fellowship has been established in memory of Dr. Glenn S. Dumke, Chancellor of the California State University from 1962 to 1982. Dr. Dumke died at home on July 29, 1989.

The purpose of the fellowship is to encourage student scholars to engage in graduate work in fields such as public policy, American History, economics, archival management and government. A strong emphasis must be indicated by the applicants as to how these fields relate to the State of California. The winning scholars are expected to pursue research projects within the Dumke Collection at the CSU archives and other CSU collections.

One fellowship of up to $1,000 will be awarded for the 2004-2005 academic year using the stated criterion:

  • Applicant must be in good standing and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicant must be a CSU graduate student in the areas of public policy, American history, economics, archival management, or government during the 2004-2005 academic year.
  • All or part of the award must be used to pursue research projects within the Dumke Collection and other collections housed within the CSU archives at CSU Dominguez Hills, the Center for California Studies at CSU Sacramento, or other special collections within the CSU system.

Applications are available through the campus Financial Aid Office.

The Financial Aid Office at each campus will forward applications to CSU Sacramento for review. Applications must include the application form and a statement with the following information:

  • The applicant’s interest in American history and/or California history; politics and economics of California; or similar areas of California studies.
  • Any prior work in the areas listed above and how it relates to the State of California.
  • The anticipated focus of the research project and a clearly defined plan of study.
  • Financial need (may be considered in cases of equal qualification).

Attach:

  • A letter of recommendation from a CSU faculty member.
  • Transcripts (copies of department records are acceptable).

Congressional Fellowships on Women and Public Policy
Apply for the Fellowship.
Who is Eligible?
Only students who are currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program at an accredited institution in the United States or who have completed such a program within the past 18 months are eligible. WREI strongly recommends that applicants complete at least nine hours of graduate coursework before applying and have a demonstrated interest in research or political activity related to women's social and political status.

Deadline is June 18, 2004 for the 2005 fellowships.

Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program
Application Deadline: October 15, 2004
Program Dates: September through May (9 months)
Number of Participants: 20
Citizenship : US Citizen
Age: 23-34 at time of application.
Language: German fluency required at start of program. If needed, language training will be provided by the Bosch foundation in the US and Germany.
Education: Graduate degree or at graduate level training in business administration, economics,journalism, mass communications, law, political science, public affairs/public policy.
Work Experience: At least two years relevant work experience.
