RURAL HEALTH POLICY ANALYST
This is a new and exciting position with the legislature's bipartisan Rural Caucus. The position runs through 2005 and is funded by a major grant. The Center is the fiscal agent for the grant and thus the position is actually with the CSUS Foundation. If you are interested in rural and/or health policy and would like to research and develop new state policies in the area of rural health, this is the job. If you are not interested yourself, please pass this on to anyone who might be interested. We want to find a great person for the position and are counting on you to help spread the word.

COMMISSION CLERK
The San Luis Obispo Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual to provide high level administrative and office management support. LAFCO is the governmental agency responsible for city and special district boundaries changes. In addition to computer skills, candidates should have experience in payroll, purchasing, and general office management. Previous experience serving as a clerk to a board or commission is desirable. Knowledge in website maintenance is also a plus.

Urban Ecology
Community Organizer -- OAKLAND
The Community Organizer will be part community planner, part community organizer, and will work closely with Urban Ecology's staff and with a range of external stakeholders, primarily in low-income communities in Oakland.

Policy Director -- OAKLAND
The Policy Director will work closely with Urban Ecology's Executive Director to identify priority policy issues at the regional and municipal levels, develop relationships with other leading advocacy organizations and to win policies and legislation that benefit urban communities.

Policylink
Housing Research Associate -- OAKLAND
The Research Associate will independently conduct quantitative and qualitative research, analyze legislation and other policies, draft reports and policy memos, and build strategic alliances with partners, including local and state networks, constituency groups, and practitioners. Her/his work will provide a foundation for expanding a leadership role for PolicyLink in the national affordable housing arena.

Surface Transportation Policy Project
The Surface Transportation Policy Project (STPP) is a national coalition of transportation, environmental, growth management, health, social equity, community development and business formed in 1990 to advocate for better transportation and travel choices, stronger linkages between land use, social equity, and transportation investments, and more public involvement in the transportation decision-making process. STPP is based in Washington DC with field offices in California, Pennsylvania, and New Mexico.

STPP has some job openings. Of particular interest to PPA students and graduates might be the positions of National Field Director or California Field Office Director. Open until filled.
