COMMUNICATOR

April 28, 2005

The Communicator is the official department newsletter serving the students of the Graduate Programs in Public Policy and Administration at California State University, Sacramento.
CHAIR'S CORNER

Ah, it’s almost the end of April, and that means it’s time for a last reminder about the key event in greater Sacramento at this time of year: Rob’s PPA party. It’ll be at his house (933 Sonoma Ave. in Sacramento, off of J Street and between 44th and 45th Streets) at 6:00 p.m. this Saturday, April 30. Please RSVP to him at rwassme@csus.edu if you’re able to make it.

On the subject of events, the PPA alumni chapter will be sponsoring a professional development workshop on Friday, May 27 at 4:00 p.m. David De Luz, Governor Schwarzenegger’s Deputy Appointments Secretary, will discuss the gubernatorial appointments process. Many of us know David well because he is a 1995 MPPA graduate and later taught courses for the Department. David’s talk is likely to go until about 5:00 p.m., at which time we’ll adjourn to one of the nearby brew pubs... just for fun! I’m still working out details for the exact location of David’s talk and the subsequent social get-together, so please watch for further details via e-mail.

I hope to see you on Saturday.
