Happy spring, everyone! And with spring seems to come a whole bunch of job
announcements, so if you're in the market for a new position please keep a close
eye on my e-mail messages and the newsletter.
SPRING '05 GRADUATION
It's
a bit hard to believe, but the spring graduation is almost upon us. If you're
planning to attend the commencement ceremony you should visit the following web
site which has information about the event, directions, and a sign-up form:
http://www.csus.edu/ssis/commencementS05.htm.
STUDENT
RESEARCH CONFERENCE
The Social Science Research and Instructional Council (SSRIC)
will be holding its annual student research conference on Thursday, April 28
at CSU Fresno. I've been a member of the SSRIC for many years and have attended
several of these events, so I can say with some authority that this is a highly
supportive environment for presenting research. Presenting at a conference can
be an educational experience, and it certainly doesn't hurt your resume. Additionally,
there are small cash awards for the best graduate paper and the best paper using
quantitative data, and in the past CSUS students have won these awards. To get
more information, contact Professor Ed
Nelson of CSU Fresno at ednelson@csufresno.edu.
The deadline for submitting a paper or a paper abstract (with the full paper to
be discussed at the conference) to Professor Nelson is April 18.
