State Capitol Summer Internship Program
APAPA INTERNSHIP
The Asian Pacific
Islander American Public Affairs Association - Community Education Foundation
(APAPA-CEF) will award up to 10 internships for Asian Pacific American college
and college bound students to better understand California state and local government
and develop leadership. Students selected for an APAPA internship will be awarded
a $1000 scholarship from the partnership of APAPA and Ronald McDonald House Charities
Scholarship Program (RMHC/ASIA). Each student awarded an internship must spend
a minimum of 15 hours a week during summer 2005 working for a legislature or government
in Sacramento, California.
Deadline is April 1, 2005.

Hi, my name is Cindi Dulgar, Summer Youth Camp Director
at CSUS Aquatic and Boating Safety Center, at Lake Natoma (Located next to Nimbus
Dam). Only 15-20minutes east of the Sacramento State University Campus. I am looking
for summer staff that love children and the opportunity to teach a variety of
boating skills. The many activities include: Water-skiing, Jet skiing, Motor Boat
Safety, Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, Windsurfing, Rowing and Team Building activities.
What a great way to spend your summer! Teaching sports that you love and having
a positive influence on children's lives.
Our boating safety center is equipped
with:
2 PWC Jet Ski's, 3 Ski Nautiques, 14 Canoes, 6 Cabo Kayaks, 10 Yak Kayaks,20
single sit on top kayaks, 18 Laser sailboats, 5 Dewitt Sailboats, 18 Fanatic Windsurfers,5
holder sail boats, 2 Hobie cats, 2 keelboats, and 6 safety launches.
California State University, Sacramento Aquatic Center is a public, coed, day camp located in Rancho Cordova California. We have approximately 1300 campers, ages 7-17, who participate in a wide variety of boating and water activities.
We have two types of positions at CSUS Aquatic Camp: General Counselors and Specialty Counselors. As a General Counselor, you would supervise and Instruct a specific age group. This schedule changes every week as do the children you supervise.
During the day, you will accompany the campers to their activities and instruction where you are comfortable and knowledgeable. (We will provide the training for the boating activities) This year training is May 31st-June 3rd, 2005.
As a Specialty Counselor/Instructor you will be responsible for all the children in one of the following programs: Water Skiing Jet Skiing, or Sailing.
Qualification must
include: CPR, First Aid, and Life Guard Training.
Specialty Instructors also
need:
Class B Drivers Licenses,
AWSA Instructors Certification,
US
Rowing Instructor,
Water Ski Trained Drivers certification,
US Sailing
Instructor.

Summer Season runs May 30th through August 26th.

My Sister's House began in 2000 as a public campaign
to establish the organization as Sacramento's (in fact the Central Valley's) first
agency to address battering in the Asian and Pacific Islander community. This
included providing the development of a culturally appropriate safe haven. Its
mission was and continues to be "to serve the needs of Asian and Pacific
Islander women and children impacted by domestic violence by providing a culturally
competent safe haven that empowers them to achieve a life of human dignity."
