Note that two of the scholarships are for graduate students. The
application deadline is April 14, 2006. They are currently accepting
applications for the 2006 program.
League of Women Voters Sacramento County
Anne Rudin Scholarship
This is an announcement for the $1,000 Anne Rudin scholarship for a female graduate student in the area of public administration/government/public policy. The local League of Women Voters chapter and the Sacramento Regional Foundation award the scholarship annually to an outstanding woman student enrolled in a graduate program in the Sacramento region. Our own Tamar Foster won the award last year. The application deadline is April 15, 2006.
Women's Research and Education Institute
Congressional Fellowships on Women and Public Policy
Greetings all. I wanted to let our current students know about a program called the "Congressional Fellowships on Women and Public Policy." The program, sponsored by the Women's Research and Education Institute (WREI), supports "a select group of graduate student with a proven commitment to equity for women" who wish to gain experience in a Congressional office. The program lasts for 8 months, from Jan. '07 to Aug. '07. Fellows receive a stipend of $1,400 per month. For more information go to http://www.wrei.org/fellowships/index.htm.
