SSRIC Student Research Conference
31st Annual Student Research Conference

The CSU, SSRIC Student Research Conference is modeled on professional conferences in the social sciences. The Council invites both undergraduate and graduate students, from all CSU and California Community College campuses and in all areas of the social sciences, to present their research to their peers. Three prizes are awarded. Each award consists of a certificate and $100. Please visit the website for details.

University Deadlines
Application to Graduate -- March 15, 2007 (this semester only)
Advance to Candidacy -- May 1, 2007

[Please note: Due to systems conversions academic documents submitted to Graduate Studies between February 23rd and March 12th cannot be processed (advancements to candidacy, WPE fee waivers, petitions for exception, etc). Therefore, we have extended the date to submit the application to graduate from March 1, 2007 to March 15, 2007 FOR THIS SEMESTER ONLY.]

Commencement
The College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies 2007 commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007at Arco Arena at 3:00 pm (graduates assemble at 2:15). Please visit the Dean's Office website for more information and to sign up.
Women Mentoring Women conference
“Women Mentoring Women” conference which will be held on March 2, 2007 in the University Union. This is the link for the STUDENTS to register for the free conference.
Human Subjects Policy *
After much discussion, we have revised our policy on obtaining human subjects committee approval to make clear that a project that includes interviews-- but only for background purposes, rather than as sources of primary data-- is exempt from review. We have also clarified the exemptions policy more generally. The revised policy is included in our on-line student handbook.
