Peter Detwiler has been asked to join the editorial board of "State and Local Government Review." It's a three-year term (ending in December 2009). Mike Scicchitano is the journal's editor and he also runs the MPA program at the University of Florida.
In September David Booher facilitated participant dialogue at a conference on Sustainability of Los Angles sponsored by UCLA. The conference focused on integrating new policy decision analysis tools with deliberative methods to achieve a more sustainable region. During fall semester David spoke to the Municipal Managers Association on Northern California on Collaborative Regional Initiatives and to the California Chapter of the American Planning Association on Institutionalizing Collaborative Planning.
This fall David also was a guest lecturer at the U. C. Berkeley Energy Resources Group. His talk focused on Complexity and Adaptive Policy Systems.
On December 5 David was a guest lecturer at the Naval Post Graduate School College of Defense Analysis in Monterey. His lecture focused on the use of collaborative methods to take on wicked problems.
