2008 PPA Current Student News
Dennis Kauffman: I recently passed the third of three exams to earn the Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification from the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).

Jessica Rewers: I recently traveled to England, exploring the southern region of the country. I visited some notable historic sites along the way, including the Roman Baths, Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral and of course, Big Ben! In my work at Capitol Area Development Authority, my colleagues and I are working on a special project over the next three months, which involves auditing and monitoring the neighborhood around the State Capitol (the CADA neighborhood). This effort will eventually result in developments and improvements to help make the Capitol Area neighborhood more sustainable and green.

Dan Scott: I competed in six events, winning two gold medals and two silver medals, at the inaugural Wine Olympics at the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, CA. I continue to cover Sacramento area beer, wine, music, nightlife and politics for the award-winning Sac Rag at www.sacrag.com. Oh yeah, job hunting and thesis writing also.

We welcome your contributions to the Communicator! Contact the Department Chair, Rob Wassmer, or the Department Secretary (916) 278-6557, in the PPA Department Office.
