DIRECTOR'S CORNER

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Finals and the end of the semester are almost here. It's time to finish up all your school work and enjoy the sunshine before it gets too hot to breath! Remember to stop by sometime soon for some academic advising for Fall 2000; CASPER registration will be here before you know it!

For those of you who couldn't be there, the Public Policy and Administration 10th Anniversary Celebration on May 2 was a huge success! Dean Joseph Sheley and I made a few comments, but the rest of the program was completely devoted to the PPA students and alumni. Of the original 16 alumni from the first class admitted 1989-90, 10 were present and were gracious enough to share their experiences of the last 10 years.
Go to http://www.csus.edu/mppa/celebrate/10thanniversary.htm to see pictures and other details.

Students graduating this semester are reminded to please sign up for commencement by May 15 (they will be at ARCO ARENA on Friday, May 26, 2000 at 5:00 p.m.). See the announcements page of the newsletter for more details about signing up, purchasing your gown and hood, etc. This is always a very moving and exciting event. Please plan to attend!!

Please enjoy the rest of this month's newsletter. The announcements page is packed full of end of the year information. The student jobs/internships page only has one internship announcement this time. The scholarships, grants, fellowships page has information about some summer programs. The career opportunities page has a lot of jobs this month for both PPA and IA students. The alumni page has vital information about starting a PPA Alumni Association chapter.

Have a great summer!
