CAREER OPPORTUNITIES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
CALIFORNIA INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT FINANCING ADVISORY COMMISSION (CIDFAC) Office of Treasurer State of California Under the direction of the Treasurer, Chair of the Commission, provides policy, program and technical direction to the members and staff of the Commission, which assists local authorities with the planning, preparation, marketing and sale of industrial development revenue bonds (IDBs) to support small manufacturing projects in need of low-cost capital financing (every city and county in the State is authorized to create a local authority); serves as CIDFAC's primary liaison with parties interested in pursuing tax-exempt financing for economic development projects; serves as CIDFAC's primary liaison with local financing agencies; prepares guidelines and assists in preparation of documents necessary for IDB offerings; provides direct assistance and undertakes studies on behalf of the Commission relating to IDB issuance and economic development; recommends legislation and state and local practices to improve the sale and servicing of local IDBs to the Commission's five members; represents the Commission at the national level on areas that impact IDBs and economic development. The IDB program provides an alternative method of financing capital outlays for small businesses to increase employment or otherwise contribute to economic development. The Executive Director is also responsible for exploring other financing alternatives for economic development projects and supervises a staff of three. Desirable Qualifications: Masters degree in public policy, business, economic development, finance or equivalent experience. Knowledge of finance and the capital markets through work in banking, investment banking or community development finance. Entrepreneurial skills with proven ability to successfully implement and oversee multiple projects from beginning to end. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, ability to handle multiple priorities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Salary Range: $7,363-$7,583/month and standard benefits.
