Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership
2000 Summer Scholarship Program
ASHA Jaini Memorial Graduate Leadership Fellowship

The Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) will be awarding four scholarships to outstanding Asian Pacific American undergraduates, graduating seniors and graduate students for public or non-profit sector internships in Washington DC for the summer of 2000. The scholarships are intended to enable outstanding college students with the potential for leadership to work full-time and learn about ways to effect public policy in order to better benefit and serve Asian Pacific American communities. Through the generous donations of its sponsors, CAPAL is able to fund four students with $2,000 stipends.
Application deadline is April 15, 2000.

Peking University Summer Program 2000
The Chinese Language Education & Research Center (CLERC), a division of Chinese Culture Center of California, is a nonprofit organization engaged in fostering cultural exchange programs between the United States and China since 1990. CLERC, in association with Peking University, will offer its seventh annual study-travel program in the People's Republic of China.
This program of six weeks on intensive language study and nine day of travel brings together college and university students in pursuit of knowledge and love of Chinese language and culture.

The CSUS Financial Aid Office has recently opened a Scholarship Office. It is located at 1013 A Lassen Hall (between Regional and Continuing Education and Admissions and Records Offices) and is open for service. The hours of operation are 9-11 am and 1-3 pm.
