City of Sacramento Department of Parks and Recreation
Job Announcement
Student Employment Opportunity
The department director for the new City of Sacramento Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking a student to work directly with him for 20-30 hours per week at $11-12 per hour and/or for school credit. Occasional evening meetings are necessary and are included in this schedule.

The director seeks an individual with solid organization, research and writing skills. The student will be asked to accompany the director to a variety of meetings on park and recreation policy issues, operation issues, and special projects. The student is to take notes and do necessary follow-up work. The student will also be given responsibility for one or more special projects, such as the development of policy recommendations and operational challenges regarding community gardens.

The director would prefer a student with major course work in either Recreation & Leisure Studies, Government, or Public Policy & Administration.

Students interested in this position are asked to fax a resume to Alice Ortiz, Executive Secretary, at 264-8329. The director's office is located at 1231 I Street, one block from light rail.
