Welcome to the Department of Music!

As a student at California State University, Sacramento, you are an integral part of one of the top-ranked regional universities in the Western United States. Faculty and students come from across the country and around the world to teach and study, and to open doors to a broad spectrum of artistic and intellectual pursuits.

A fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) since 1964, the Department of Music offers the Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Music degrees, as well as the teaching credential for the state of California. Students may also opt for programs which combine music with one or more other academic areas to pursue individualized educational goals.

Upcoming at the Department of Music
Thursday, November 19 - Faculty recital with Lorna Peters, harpsichord and guest artist Jubal Fulks, violin, at 7pm in Capistrano Hall 151, performing works by Muffat, Bach, Couperin, Mealli, and Telemann. Admission is $8 general and $5 student/senior.

Saturday, November 21 - Piano Series recital with faculty artist Richard Cionco, performing works by Villa-Lobos, Liszt, Chopin, Ginastera, and Sacramento native Sunny Knable. Admission is $12 general, $10 student/senior. more info
