ENTRANCE AUDITIONS

The undergraduate music major at Sac State is a rigorous four year course of study with a traditional conservatory curriculum providing classical or jazz training. All of our undergraduate degree concentrations have performance as a foundation.

• In addition to a Sacramento State admission application, all undergraduate applicants, including Theory/Composition and Music Management applicants, must complete an entrance audition.
• All undergraduate applicants must complete the Entry Level Math and English Placement Test, unless exempt. These exams must be taken before May 1 preceding your Fall entrance to Sac State.
• Graduate applicants should consult the University Catalog and Graduate Studies office for application procedures.
• An audition is required for applicants to the MM in Performance and the Post Master's Performer's Certificate.
• All auditions are scheduled by appointment only. Audition Appointments will be scheduled only after the audition application is received in the Music Admissions Office.
