Welcome to Sac State!

The undergraduate music major at Sacramento State is a rigorous four-year course of study with a traditional conservatory curriculum, providing classical or jazz training. We offer the Bachelor of Arts degree as well as the Bachelor of Music (jazz, music education, performance, or theory/composition concentrations). All of our undergraduate degree concentrations have performance as a foundation. In addition to applying for admission to Sac State, all undergraduate applicants must complete an entrance audition.

The School of Music also offers the Master of Music degree (conducting, composition, or performance concentrations). **Graduate applicants should consult the University Catalog (click on the "Graduate" tab) and Graduate Studies office for application procedures. An audition is required for Graduate applicants to the Performance and the Post Master's Performer's Certificate concentrations.
