Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Orchestra are open via audition to any qualified CSUS
student, regardless of major ** FALL 2012 SCHEDULE **

STRINGS:
Sign up for a time slot on Professor Eylar's door, CPS 428, Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Auditions will be held in the evening of August 28. Prepare five minutes of a solo piece--your choice. Sight reading and scales will not be required.

WINDS:
Auditions are held concurrently with the wind auditions for the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, usually right before the start of school each fall.

Wind Audition Repertoire

1. a chromatic scale ascending and descending, demonstrating range;
2. (60 seconds) a prepared solo/etude displaying slow, sustained playing to show beauty of tone, expression and tuning;
3. (60 seconds) a prepared solo/etude displaying rapid, slurred and articulated music to show technique, time and tonguing;
4. sight reading.
