ALL NEW AND RETURNING MUSIC MAJORS MUST PERFORM AN AUDITION.
Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Orchestra are open via audition to any qualified CSUS
student, regardless of major. Non-majors who want to play in Concert Band may do so
without an audition.


STRINGS:
Get music from Robert Broadfoot to practice for auditions,
which will be the first Tuesday of class, in the evening.

Wind Audition Repertoire

  1. a chromatic scale ascending and descending, demonstrating range;
  2. (60 seconds) a prepared solo/etude displaying slow, sustained playing to show beauty of tone, expression and tuning;
  3. (60 seconds) a prepared solo/etude displaying rapid, slurred and articulated music to show technique, time and tonguing;
  4. sight reading.
