Community Music Division
The Community Music Division provides instruction to those who are preparing to study music on the university level, as well as to those who are participating for their own personal development and enjoyment. Regardless of your musical background, the Community Music Division can offer instruction to suit your needs. Our Professional Instructors include faculty members of the CSUS Department of Music as well as qualified professionals from the Sacramento area. Our Associate Instructors are advanced CSUS music majors.
Private instrumental instruction is offered in modules of 10 half-hour lessons which take place in the CSUS Music Building. Beginning Fall 2006 each module will be $250.00. One module is comprised of 10 half-hour lessons.
You can check the list on the left for which instruments are offered. If you are interested in studying an instrument which is not listed, please contact us about the possibility of arranging for an instructor

Music Lesson Policy
1. Teachers must be notified at least 24 hours in advance of missed lessons. Lessons missed without notification will be charged as usual.
2. All lessons must be held in the CSUS Music Building. (It is strictly against policy for CSUS to allow music lessons to be taken in the Music Building without registering these lessons through the Community Music Division).
3. All Students are encouraged to participate in a recital at the end of each semester. This is an opportunity to share what you have learned with family and friends. Your teacher will notify you of the date, time and place.
4. At the beginning of each new module of ten lessons, please obtain a new registration form by calling (916) 278-7991 or by asking your instructor for one.
Refund Policy
1. If for some reason, the Community Music Division is unable to accommodate a student and no lessons have been taken, a full refund will be made.
2. If a student is unable to continue lessons after having begun a 10-lesson module, a 20% administrative cost will first be deducted, followed by a deduction of lesson costs depending upon the number of lessons which have been completed.
3. If five or more lessons have been completed, no refund will be issued and the instructor will be paid in full for the 10-lesson module.
