Bill Barbini , violin • (916) 278-5167

Following his graduation from the Juilliard School in 1970, violinist Bill Barbini became a member of the New York Philharmonic. While in New York he performed frequently in chamber music ensembles, including first violinist of the Gramercy String Quartet, the resident ensemble at Lehman College. Mr. Barbini appeared jointly with Pierre Boulez and the New York Philharmonic, gave performances at William and Mary College, and took part in the Norwalk Performing Arts Festival. At the Norwalk Festival, Mr. Barbini also served as concertmaster for the Joffrey Ballet and appeared as soloist with the Festival Orchestra. He has performed solo recitals and concerti with orchestras in the United States and Europe. Mr. Barbini came to Sacramento in 1983 to serve as concertmaster of the Sacramento Symphony, and joined the faculty of the Sacramento State Music Department in 1984. Mr. Barbini also serves as the Music Director of the Chamber Music Society of Sacramento.
