Professor Lindsey M. Bartlett is originally from Bristol, England where her early musical training began as a pianist, cellist and percussionist. Professor Bartlett performed in numerous local or Regional Bands and orchestras that toured Continental Europe, Scandinavia, and the Near East. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Huddersfield Polytechnic, and a GRSAMD Certificate in Advanced Performance Studies at the Royal Scottish academy of Music and Drama before coming to the United States.
Once in the U.S. she attended Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, gaining a Master of Music Degree in Bassoon Performance. While enrolled at BSU her Graduate Assistant duties included Bassoon instruction and the Performance/Assistant Coordinator of Chamber Ensembles. Professor Bartlett received her Doctor of Musical Arts from Arizona State University. During her enrollment at ASU Bartlett was Principal Bassoon of the Symphonic Band, Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, Chamber Ensembles, and also performed in the Faculty Chamber Ensemble.
She was a member of the Arizona Opera Orchestra, and a frequent Substitute and Extra Bassoonist/Contrabassoonist with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, Tucson Symphony Orchestra and many other orchestras/chamber ensembles in the Valley of the Sun. She joined the United States Air Force in February 1996 and upon completing Basic Training was assigned to the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West. She is a member of the Bassoon Section in the Concert Band and a member of The Golden West Winds Quintet.
