Dr. Jack Foote is Professor of Music at California State University, Sacramento where he teaches saxophone, music education and advises the music management and performance graduate programs. He received B.M.E., M.M.E., D.M.A. degrees from the University of Oklahoma where he assisted with the marching and concert bands and taught the jazz ensembles, saxophone and music education.

Dr. Foote has taught in the public schools of Richardson Texas and has been the Marching Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Ensemble Director at the University of Colorado at Boulder and CSUS. He has performed as a saxophonist and clarinetist with the Oklahoma City Symphony and the Big Bands of Les Elgart and Buddy Morrow. His jazz ensembles have been featured on the NBC Today Show and his marching bands have performed for audiences at the Bluebonnet Bowl, Orange Bowl, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers. He has appeared as an adjudicator and clinician throughout the U.S.

The Sacramento State Saxophone Quartet can be heard on the limited edition CD Live (1997), and Dr. Foote performs on the Native American Stories CD (1998) with Flutist Laurel Zucker.
