Gerry Pineda is an accomplished double bass and electric bass player. With over twenty years of teaching and performing experience, he is recognized for his lyric improvisational sensibilities and versatility.

Although Gerry specializes in jazz, he has a great appreciation for all styles of music. Along with his many casual gigs and theatre work, Gerry has performed with jazz luminaries such as Eddie Harris, Joe Farrell, Jessica Williams and Ernie Watts as well as local jazz greats, Steve Roach, Henry Robinette, Mike McMullen, John Doolittle, Darius Babazedeh, Scot Collard, Aaron Garner, Rick Lotter, Matt Marucci, Doug Pauly, Steve Homan, Joe Gilman and the late great drummer Joe Bellardino.

Gerry also plays six string fretless electric bass in the Dave Lynch Group featuring original compositions by all members, with Dave Lynch on guitar, Rob Lautz on vibraphone and Eric Crownover on the drums. Gerry recently returned to Sacramento State where he completed a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies. He is currently in the graduate program at Sac State.
