Parking for Music Concerts

The School of Music has an arrangement with UTAPS, whereby parking is free in Parking Structure 1 (PS1) for any of our ticketed concerts in Capistrano Hall; parking will not be enforced in PS1 starting one hour prior to the concert start time at these events. PS1 is located directly adjacent to Capistrano Hall (see campus map). Driving directions to Capistrano Hall are here.

For parking at our free concerts, a limited number of courtesy permits will be provided in the lobby of Capistrano Hall beginning one hour prior to concert time, on a first-come-first-served basis. Daily parking permits may also be purchased for $6 from the machine on the 5th floor of the parking structure adjacent to Capistrano Hall. Two-hour permits may also be purchased for $3. The machines on campus accept cash or credit.

For the Festival of New American Music, held each November, parking is free in PS1 after 7pm for the evening concerts.

Parking passes are not generally provided for masterclasses, lectures, or other types of events. The School of Music does not arrange parking for community events held at Capistrano Hall. It is the responsibility of the organizations that run these events to make arrangements with UTAPS directly.

NOTE: If for any reason you receive a citation while on campus, the reverse of the ticket has a web address for appeals. You can also visit the UTAPS website for more information, or email us. Please note that the School of Music does not have the ability to contest or waive parking tickets.
