Enrollment in most music course requires the purchase of a Music Service Fee Card, which is essentially a lab fee that helps the department purchase and maintain equipment used in our classrooms and performance halls. The fee card is $40 per semester for those enrolled in music major courses, or $20 for those enrolled only in general education courses (MUSC 8, 18, 25, 27, 101, 118, 127, 129). The Music Fee does not apply to online courses.
The Department of Music at Sacramento State boasts over 200 music majors and a wide variety of performing ensembles - including a Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, Orchestra, Opera, 2 Jazz Bands, 4 Jazz Combos, 3 Choirs, a Baroque Ensemble, a Percussion Ensemble, and a host of other chamber ensembles for all instruments. Our facilities include a 338-seat Recital Hall and a 175-seat Concert Hall, plus more than 20 individual practice rooms, a percussion studio, a jazz studio, 2 piano labs, and a computer lab. And all of this set on a beautiful park-like 300 acre campus. Feel free to visit our Facebook page, or email us for more information.
