Sacramento State guest lecturer
explains the search for ET
Dr. Jill Tarter, the director of the Center for SETI Research at the SETI Institute, Mountain View, Calif., will speak at Sacramento State, 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, in Mendocino Hall, room 1005.
SETI, which stands for Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, is a research institute in Mountain View, Calif., that explores the possibility of life and advanced civilizations existing outside of Earth.
Tarter’s presentation will focus on the use of the new Allen Telescope Array in Northern California in the continuing searching for extraterrestrial life.
Tarter has been involved in SETI research through NASA and the institute and is one of the most prominent active researchers in the field.
