Local Colleges "Making It Happen"
During February's "College Awareness Month," California State University, Sacramento, will team up with several local colleges and universities to host an informational program for middle school students. "College: Making it Happen" takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, in the CSUS University Union Ballroom.
The program will provide practical information on how to prepare for college both financially and academically. There will be a video, also called "College: Making it Happen," that emphasizes the importance of planning for college and that college preparation is a family affair. The video, created by a group of California schools from kindergarten to college, will be presented in both English and Spanish.
Following the video, representatives from local institutions will be available to answer questions, provide additional information and offer students and their families practical tips for college preparation.
"College: Making it Happen" is sponsored by CSUS, Los Rios Community College District, UC Davis, the University of the Pacific and the California Education Round Table. The event is free and open to the public.
