Greek entertainment, food to fill evening

California State University, Sacramento is set to host a free evening of Greek music, poetry and dance at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29 in the University Union Ballroom.

Presented by the University's Hellenic studies program, the night will feature more than 125 performers, making it among the largest gatherings of Hellenic talent in the region to date. Included will be members of the Sacramento Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation choir and folk dance group; the combined San Francisco Bay Area Festival Chorus and Orchestra; and the San Jose Opera. A reception featuring authentically prepared Greek pastries along with Greek and American coffee will follow the show.

Greek musical greats Tikey Zes, Constantine Gundunas and William Bobolis will conduct the performances.

The free evening of entertainment and food is made possible by a grant from the Tsakopoulos Hellenic Foundation. Donations to the Hellenic Studies Scholarship Fund will also be accepted during the event.
