Black History Month events on campus

The Sacramento State Multi-Cultural Center and the Student Activities Office are presenting more than 30 events in celebration of Black History Month. They have selected programs that honor significant historical events as well as those that address current political and social movements.

“It is with great pleasure that we participate in events that are designed to reach a wide array of audiences,” says Analia Mendez, interim director of the Multi-Cultural Center. “We invite the Sacramento State campus community to participate.”

Events include performances, lectures, films and discussions.  Featured among these are Black Woman to Woman Forum, a forum where professional women come together to discuss work, family, health issues and community, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., and the Good, Bad and the Ugly Comedy Tour, a show featuring Leo Flowers, Mo Mandel, and Mike E. Wynfield from the SF Comedy Competition, Feb. 28, at noon and 2 p.m.

Programs are presented in collaboration with campus groups such as AFRICA and Cooper Woodson College Enhancement Program.
