Sacramento State’s College of Education will hold an Open House from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, to raise awareness in the campus community about the programs and services the College provides future educators.
The event will begin with a reception in the second floor lobby of Eureka Hall. Then the College’s six departments will host breakout sessions to highlight the programs available for students preparing for their education careers, including undergraduate majors and minors, teaching, administrative, counseling and school psychology credentials, several M.A. and M.S. programs, and an education doctorate.
Primarily, says associate dean Pia Wong, the Open House will help students familiarize themselves with the many ways the College of Education can prepare them for careers in a range of education professions. “They will also become more aware of upcoming deadlines and other important information about the application process,” she says.
The College of Education consists of the departments of bilingual/multicultural education; child development; counselor education; educational leadership and policy studies; special education, school psychology; rehabilitation, and deaf studies; and teacher education.
