Center to host speaker series, computer and fitness classes
Life
Center trains computer-savvy seniors
The
spring schedule at California State University, Sacramento's Life
Center offers a variety of introductory computer classes for seniors.
All classes will be held at the Life Center in the University's
historic Julia Morgan House at 3731 T St.
Computer classes require an initial network sign-up fee of $40,
in addition to individual course fees. Classes include:
- "Introduction
to Computing," a two-week class offered noon-2 p.m. on Tuesdays
and Thursdays, Feb. 25-March 6. The cost is $20.
- "Introduction
to Windows," a four-week class offered 9:30-11:30 a.m. on
Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 24-March 19. The cost is $35.
- "Introduction
to the Internet," a three-week class offered noon-2 p.m.
on Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 24-March 12. A second session
is offered at the same times April 21-May 7. The cost is $35.
- "Introduction
to Word Processing," a four-week class offered noon-2 p.m.
on Tuesday and Thursday, April 8-May 6. The cost is $35.

Free
speaker forums featured at Life Center
Free
Friday afternoon speaker forums are offered this spring at California
State University, Sacramento's Life Center. All forums will be held
from
noon to 1 p.m. at the University's Life Center in the historic Julia
Morgan House at 3731 T St.
Forums include:
- February
14, "Heart Healthy Talk for Valentine's Day," Brad Stockert,
CSUS physical therapy professor.
- March
14, "Reflexology: Pain Relief and Energy," Marie Wilson,
licensed massage therapist, Life Enrichment Center.
- April
11, "Anaerobic and Aerobic Exercise in Aging," Rafael
Escamilla, CSUS physical therapy professor.
- May
9, "Stress Management," Kathy Martinez, CSUS recreation
and leisure studies lecturer.

Seniors
build muscle at Life Center
A
variety of wellness classes are available for seniors this spring
at California State University, Sacramento's Life Center. Classes
are held at the University's Life Center in the historic Julia Morgan
House at 3731 T St.
Wellness classes include:
- "Balance
& Fall Risk Reduction," a seven-week course offered 2-3
p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays starting March 10. A second session
is offered 10:45-11:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning
March 11. The cost is $95.
- "Stretching
and Strengthening," an ongoing class offered 7:30-8:30 a.m.,
8:45-9:45 a.m., 10-11 a.m. and 11:05 a.m.-12:05 p.m. on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays. The cost is $40 per month.
- "Circuit
Machines," an ongoing class offered 4:30-5:30 p.m. and
6:30-7:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The cost is $45 per
month.
- "Tai
Chi," an ongoing class offered 1:30-3 p.m. on Tuesdays and
Thursdays. The cost is $25 per month.
- "Yoga,"
an ongoing class offered 12:15-1:15 p.m. on Mondays and
8:15-9:15 a.m. on Tuesdays. The cost is $20 per month.
- "Fitness
for Life - Exercise for Challenged Older Adults," an ongoing
class offered 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
