Famed quartet plays at CSUS
A
rare Sacramento appearance by the world-famous Kronos Quartet
at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19 marks the third concert in California
State University, Sacramento's New Millennium Series. The
concert is in the Music Recital Hall in Capistrano Hall.
Synonymous with musical innovation, the Kronos Quartet is
known across the globe for its unique artistic vision. More
than 450 pieces have been written or arranged for the group
by the some of the world's most respected composers. The group
has received numerous national and international awards, including
six Grammy nominations.
The Kronos Quartet performs annually in many cities and tours
extensively, giving more than 100 concerts each year throughout
the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Mexico, South America,
Russia, Asia and Australia.
Recent tours have included appearances at the Kennedy Center,
Brooklyn Academy of Music's Next Wave Festival, the Conservatory
of Music in Moscow, Prague Spring International Music Festival,
Sydney Opera House, Eclectic Orange Festival in Southern California,
the Royal Festival Hall in London, Teatro Colon in Buenos
Aires, Theatre de la Ville in Paris and Vancouver's Chan Centre.
