Magazine and book scam

Sacramento State officials are asking area residents to be aware that someone posing as a Sacramento State student is going door-to-door selling books and magazines under the false pretext that it is a class project.

According to officials, the person claims that he is selling books as part of a communication studies class and that he gets credit for participating in the project. Communication studies official said there is no program like that, and the offer is a scam.

If someone approaches you selling magazines and books supposedly as part of a Sacramento State program, please contact your local law enforcement agency.
