President to hold budget summit

A budget summit, open to the campus community, will be held by President Alexander Gonzalez at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 23 in the Hinde Auditorium in the University Union.

The town-hall style meeting will be broadcast on campus television channels 8 and 11 and will appear online in streaming video later that day.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform the campus about the status of the Governor’s budget proposal and how it will affect the campus and the CSU system. The event will cover the steps that will be taken in the preparation of the campus budget, as well as key topics including enrollment management, summer operations, and options to absorb proposed cuts.

This will be the first in a series of meetings to be held as necessary to discuss the progress of the budget.
