Hypnotist mesmerizes campus
For more than two decades, performing hypnotist Tom DeLuca has mesmerized students at California State University, Sacramento into doing outrageous tricks through the power of persuasion. Now DeLuca will perform on campus again at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3 in the University Union Ballroom, with new tricks up his sleeve.

Student participants in past campus performances have done
hilarious stunts such as ballet dancing, and have been coaxed into acting like
children and even believing their chair was trying to attack them. DeLuca always
adds a surprise element to every new tour that is sure to leave the audience
laughing in their seats.
“The show is different with each individual that gets onstage,”
says Dean Sorensen, University Union program director. “Tom DeLuca sees
new things from the students every year.”
The former clinical therapist tours the country with his show, taking it to
colleges, universities, and businesses such as Microsoft, American Express,
BMW and Marriott International.
DeLuca has appeared on “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Dateline,”
while being featured in People, Rolling Stone and the cover of the Wall Street
Journal. He has been named “Campus Entertainer of the Year” several
times by the National Association for Campus Activities.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $7 for students, available from the
CSUS Ticket Office at (916) 278-4323 and are on Tickets.com.
