Lunchtime Concert With Pop
Star at CSUS
1980s teen pop star Tiffany hits the comeback trail with a free concert at noon, Wednesday, March 7 at California State University, Sacramento.
Tiffany made a splash in the late 80s with popular covers of earlier performers' work. Her self-titled debut album sold several million copies worldwide, and her second album went double platinum in the US with a top 10 single in "All This Time." By 1987, she had sold more than six million albums.
By the 1990's, Tiffany decided to take a break.
"People think I disappeared, but I took time away to be a person, not just a personality," Tiffany says.
After more than a decade, Tiffany is back, older and wiser with a new album, "The Color of Silence," which Billboard Magazine called "one of the finest pop albums of 2000."
"This album means so much to me," Tiffany says. "I'm not searching any longer. It's not manufactured. The new songs are definitely from my heart. I hope the album surprises those who didn't necessarily care for my music before, pleasantly surprises them, that is."
Tiffany will perform new songs and old favorites at noon, March 7 at the CSUS Joe Serna Jr. Plaza, located next to the University Union.
