Meditating
seniors at Life Center
Meditation
classes for seniors are now available at California State University,
Sacramento’s Life Center in the historic Julia Morgan House
at 3731 T St. The “Introduction to Meditation” class
is a four-week course offered noon-1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays starting
March 4.
Meditation boosts the immune system, reduces pain and alleviates
stress, according to Joan Zeglarski, a Life Center meditation instructor.
“Establishing a discipline to strengthen our minds as well
as our bodies is critical throughout life and it is essential in
our 50’s and beyond,” she said, “I know, I’m
there.”
The class focuses on the physical, mental, interpersonal and spirit-enriching
benefits of various meditation techniques for seniors. It includes
presentations and practices designed to make meditation a part of
everyday life.
