CSUS orchestra joined by renowned trio
The California State University, Sacramento Symphony Orchestra,
under the direction of Leo Eylar, will perform with the internationally
acclaimed Jalina Trio at 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 5 at the Music
Recital Hall in Capistrano Hall.
Founded in 1995 at the Academy of Music in Prague, the Jalina
Trio has received excellent reviews for their performances
throughout Europe and the United States. In 1999 the trio
received first prize at the Trapani International Chamber
Music Competition in Italy and second prize at the 2000 Trondheim
International Chamber Music Competition in Norway.
The trio will perform Beethoven's "Triple Concerto."
The CSUS Symphony Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky's "Romeo
and Juliet Overture," conducted by Yoshie Muratani, and
Dmitri Shostakovich's "Symphony No. 1."
Tickets are $8 general and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets
