Celebration of talent benefits students
In a celebration
of talent to benefit its student scholarship fund, the music department at California
State University, Sacramento presents a free concert at 8 p.m. on Monday, March
15 in Capistrano Hall's Music Recital Hall.
The gala even features instrumental works from the CSUS Clarinet Choir, Percussion
Group and Liberace Woodwind Quintet. Performances of solo instrumental works
by Sir Edward William Elgar, Andrew Carter and William Grant Still will also
be included, as well as works by CSUS composers. In addition, the CSUS Opera
Theater performs selected excerpts from their upcoming production of Mozart's
"The Magic Flute."
Although the event is free, donations to the department's student scholarship
fund are encouraged. Donations are accepted at the door or by mail. All proceeds
go directly to the CSUS Music Student Scholarship Fund.
