Campus names new administrative VP
California State
University, Sacramento President Alexander Gonzalez has named Stephen G.
Garcia the vice president for administration and business affairs for the
campus.

He replaces Edward
Del Biaggio who announced his retirement from CSUS this year after nearly 40
years with the California State University system.
Garcia has served as vice president for finance and administrative services
at CSU San Marcos for several years. Prior to San Marcos, he was the chief financial
and business officer, and vice chancellor for finance and administrative services
with the Pima County Community College District in Arizona, where he had oversight
for all business and financial affairs.
He served as the chief accounting officer and assistant vice chancellor for
accounting and fiscal services with the University of California, Irvine and
led the fiscal units at Rancho Santiago Community College District in Southern
California. He also has worked within the K-12 system.
"Steve not only understands the CSU system, but also has a breadth of financial
vision and experience, having worked in all four public systems of education
in California," says CSUS President Gonzalez. "I know that he will be able to
provide the leadership to enhance our efforts in the fiscal arena as well as
to revitalize campus facilities through our new master plan."
Garcia holds a bachelor's degree in accountancy and a master's degree in business
administration.
He will begin his new position on campus May 3.
