Sculpture Invitational offers a range of works
by regional faculty and student artists

Shape and form know no boundaries when it comes to both up-and-coming and established artists at Sacramento State’s Sculpture Invitational. The University’s Art Department has invited sculptors from local colleges and high schools to display their work at a reception at 5 p.m. on March 19 in the Art Sculpture Lab, Kadema Hall.

Regional high school, community college and Sacramento State faculty were asked to choose their best students to participate with them in this exhibition featuring 27 works varying in dimension, orientation and material.

Works will range from assemblage to bronze sculpture, showing the diverse styles, approaches and talents of local artists.

The opening reception of the Sacramento State Sculpture Invitational Exhibition in the Else and Witt Galleries will include food and refreshments. An open forum discussion about the sculptures will be a part of the event.

Participating schools include American River College, Lake Tahoe Community College, Sacramento City College, Sierra College, and Folsom and Mira Loma High Schools.

The exhibition can be viewed from noon – 4:30 p.m., March 19 – 23 in the Else and Witt Galleries, Kadema Hall.
