Forum
encourages Asian American vote
Encouraging
Asian Americans to exercise their rights through the voting process
is the goal of “Empowering Asian Americans: Making Democracy
Work for Us.” The forum will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
on Saturday, April 12, at California State University, Sacramento
in the University Theatre in Shasta Hall. The free event is open
to the public.
The non-partisan, educational forum features U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer
and a panel of Sacramento’s elected officials. The discussion
will focus on getting first- and second-generation Asian Americans
involved in the political process and participating in the 2004
elections.
The forum is hosted by the CSUS ethnic studies department and the
Chinese American Political Action Committee and is sponsored by
numerous grassroots Asian American community organizations.
