Educator
Expo offers lessons in job hunting
California
State University, Sacramento is offering an opportunity for teachers
and potential educators to interview and find jobs within California’s
school districts. The Educator Recruitment Expo is 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
on Monday, April 14 in the University Union Ballroom. CSUS students
receive early admission at 9 a.m.
According to Project Pipeline, a teacher recruitment, placement
and training agency, California public schools will need 20,000
new teachers per year for the next 10 years in order to accommodate
the state’s growing population. The University’s career
center says at least 80 employers are attending the Expo to find
some of those potential teachers. Many will offer question and answer
sessions, resumé critiques and on-site interviews.
The Educator Expo is free and open to the public. For more information,
contact Deborah Filbeck Bates in the CSUS career center at (916)
