Banquet
is all business
Get
down to business and dinner too at the College of Business Administration’s
32nd annual awards banquet at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, in California
State University, Sacramento’s University Union Ballroom.
Awards for outstanding students in each business department, as
well as scholarship winners, will be announced. The college will
also honor its alum of the year, Carla Vasquez.
Vasquez, who graduated from CSUS in 1981 with a degree in business,
is the founder, president and chief executive officer of CV Logistics,
one of the largest logistics management companies in Northern California,
with annual revenues of $20 million.
Vasquez also serves on a number of boards of directors and advisory
councils, is an active member of several community organizations
and has received numerous awards, including Small Business of the
Year from the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
Retired newscaster Stan Atkinson will emcee the event. Atkinson’s
family also sponsors the Lance D. Atkinson Scholarship in honor
of his son, a CSUS business graduate who died in 1994.
Reservations are required and the cost is $45 per person. Table
sponsorships are available for $425 per table of 10. For more information
