Hear
the world in its own words
Languages
from around the world fill the air on World Language Day at California
State University, Sacramento from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, May
10.
The free event includes food, music, art, dance, plays, information
booths, workshops, demonstrations, interest sessions and more.
Cultural groups, clubs and student groups from all over the Sacramento
area are encouraged to participate, according to the event’s
director, Kathy Moore, a CSUS professor of Spanish. “We want
to get as many different local groups involved as we and we’re
also looking for presenters,” she said.
In addition to promoting cultural diversity, the event is designed
to make CSUS students more aware of the university’s foreign
language requirements and inform students of the various opportunities
available through the department.
The event will be held in Mariposa Hall and nearby outdoor campus
venues. The event is free and open to the public.
