Future HR managers to match wits at Sac State competition
Aspiring human resource managers from universities in six
western states will test their knowledge at the Pacific-West Regional Human
Resource Games on April 15-16 at Sacramento State's University Union. The competition
is sponsored by the Sacramento State student chapter of the Human Resource Management
Association.
Modeled after the television game show "Jeopardy!," the competition will feature
nine three-member student teams from Alaska, California, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada
and Washington fielding questions based on topics covered in the Professionals
in Human Resources certification exam. The regional winners from the Sacramento
State competition will head to this summer's Society of Human Resource Management
National Championship in San Diego.
Spectators are welcome to attend the competition free of charge. The games run
from 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 15 and from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday,
April 16.
The Human Resource Management Association student chapter at Sacramento State
was organized in 1973. The organization hosts social activities, encourages
development of leadership skills, and provides opportunities for students to
network with local human resource management professionals.
