CSUS students lead day of community service
More than 250 students, faculty and
staff from California State University, Sacramento are expected
to spend Saturday, April 13 pitching in at several non-profit
organizations as part of the Associated Students' 10th Community
Service Day.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteers will participate in projects
throughout the region, including sprucing up the Downtown
YWCA (1122 17th St.), installing signposts at the Effie Yeaw
Nature center at Ancil Hoffman Park, and preparing lunch at
and painting the Salvation Army (1200 N. B St.). They will
also plant trees, clean up area waterways, sort and distribute
donated clothing, sand and paint picnic benches and organize
a children's program's toy closet.
Volunteers will receive breakfast, lunch and a t-shirt. Check-in
is at 8 a.m. in the University Union.
