Madcap Chicano Comedy Troupe
Performs At CSUS
Chicano theatrical comedy troupe "Chusma,"
stages its zany brand of consciousness-raising dramatics at
California State University, Sacramento at 7:30 p.m., Thursday,
April 19. The event will take place in the University Union
Ballroom.
The Los Angeles-based protégés of the extremely
successful comedy group "Culture Clash," the troupe
regularly tours Mexico, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico and
California. L.A. Weekly describes Chusma as "horrifically
funny."
The troupe takes its name from the Spanish slang word chusma
that means "society's unwanted elements" or "outcasts."
The troupe selected the name to signify its connection with
the voiceless masses around the world and to seek to share
the experiences of the forgotten counter cultures of society's
so-called lower classes.
Tickets for this event are $8 general and $5 for students.
